Abstract

The document examines the diplomatic and political relations between the United States and Bulgaria during the critical period of World War I (1917-1918). It explores the strategic interests of the U.S. and Bulgaria's position within the Central Powers' alliance. Despite being on opposing sides, both countries maintained diplomatic relations throughout the war. The study analyzes the influence of American missionaries, the role of Bulgarian political leaders, and the impact of U.S. foreign policy under President Woodrow Wilson. Additionally, it investigates the socioeconomic and geopolitical consequences of these interactions, especially in the context of the post-war peace settlements and the Treaty of Neuilly.
