This study is a continuation of my study "Gabrovo and its district in the prehistoric and ancient era". It is the first comprehensive archaeological and historical study of Gabrovo and its district in the Middle Ages (7th - 14th centuries). On the basis of my archaeological excavations and many years of research in this interesting and rich in archaeological monuments region, I will attempt to trace its cultural and historical development during the Middle Ages.
