Abstract

After World War II, the United States of America faced a new international environment in which the world was democratizing, revolutionizing, and renewing itself. This environment caused serious anxiety in the United States. But at the same time, the ruling circles of this largest and most powerful capitalist country in the world are striving to establish American world domination and think their aspirations to be quite real mainly because of the greatly weakened position of capitalist competitors after the Second World War.
The means of American foreign policy activity in the interests of U.S. world claims are manifold. But among the principal means stands out the creation of military-political blocs and alliances that build on American military-industrial power, unite capitalist partners, and bring into play the politics of force in postwar international relations.
