В настоящото изследване се разглеждат гадателските техники в Древна Месопотамия, източниците, основните характеристики на някои определени практики, поводите, при които са се провеждали, както и експертите, които са ги извършвали. В статията е засегната темата за разграничаването на съвременните термини; някои от тях са преразгледани, съответно са аргументирани нови идеи и прозрения. По отношение на гадателския процес са разгледани конкретни проблеми, за които са предложени възможни решения и отговори.
