The Annual publishes articles and studies exploring issues in the history (political, economic, social) and culture of the Ancient East, the classical and non-classical ancient world. The chronological scope of the research is from the emergence of writing in the 4th-3rd millennia BC to the end of Late Antiquity in the 6th century AD. The journal is a platform for analyses using both traditional methods of historical research and the increasingly modern methods of digital humanities.
